GERMAN HALLERTAUER HERSBRUCKER

Brewing Quality A delicate aroma hop used mainly over the years in Lager type beers. However, it has also been successful in the production of some of the lighter English cask conditioned ales. A floral, slightly fruity flavour
Origin/History Hersbrucker originates from the Hersbruck region of Southern Germany and has developed into the variety with the largest acreage, especially in the Hallertau area. It is also grown in the Spalt region.
Agronomics An aroma variety ripening mid-late to late season. The variety is susceptible to Peronospora with an average resistance to Powdery Mildew and Verticillium Wilt.
Organic Status Organic Organic production is well established with a small number of growers, but yield is variable. The crop is pelleted soon after harvest, and therefore any whole hop requirements need to be specified by October at the latest each year.
