GERMAN TETTNANG

Brewing Quality Tettnang variety is a very fine traditional aroma hop, well established in the European Lager type beers. They have been used successfully in traditional lighter English cask ales.
Origin/History An aroma variety which is grown mainly in the Tettnang cultivation area of Baden-Bitburg-Rheinpfalz region of Southern Germany. Some growers in the Hallertau region are also now growing this variety.
Agronomics Tettnang is a good yielding variety with average resistance to Peronospora and good resistance to Verticillium Wilt.
Organic Status Organic Organic production is well established with a small number of growers, but yield is variable. The crop is pelleted soon after harvest, and therefore any whole hop requirements need to be specified by October at the latest each year.
